The Challenge

Our mission for this event was simple: how do you create space for authentic voices while building bridges between diverse communities? MS Studios faced the unique challenge of launching their inaugural event during one of London’s most celebrated cultural weekends – positioning alongside Notting Hill Carnival while carving out a distinct identity that celebrates African cultural resistance and unity.

Our Approach

Rather than compete with existing celebrations, we chose to complement them. Our strategy centred on three core pillars:

1

Community-First Referral System

Designed a program targeting 3-5 referrals per ticket sale, turning attendees into cultural ambassadors

2

Narrative-Driven Engagement

Launched a 7-14 day email campaign introducing MS Studios’ philosophy to new subscribers, aiming for 25-50% engagement increase

3

Safety and Inclusivity

Implemented comprehensive protocols to ensure zero incidents while maintaining an authentic cultural experience

The Execution

Working with a versatile Notting Hill venue, we created an adaptable space featuring:

Refurbished bar and dance floor optimised for diverse performances

External catering partnerships celebrating African culinary traditions

Licensed environment with responsible service protocols

Measuring Impact

Success wasn’t just about numbers – it was about stories. Our metrics included:

Referral conversion rates (3-5 referrals per ticket)

Email engagement growth (25-50% increase)

Authentic testimonials from diverse attendees

Zero-incident safety record
